WHO urges 18 Middle East states to secure Quarantine points againt Ebola

The World Health Organization (WHO) held on Sunday an urgent meeting to discuss developing plans to combat spreading Ebola virus in the Middle East region and ways of implementing the international regulations to protect its people.
The meeting, which was attended by 170 international and regional experts, comes after experts of WHO have finished their assessment process related to the necessary preparations of about 18 countries in the region to face Ebola virus, the regional office of the WHO said in a statement.
The evaluation outcomes revealed that those countries are in dire need of strengthening their readiness to deal with the Ebola virus in some fields, including the development of the infection control procedures and boosting coordination among those countries as well as securing Quarantine points against Ebola in ports and airports, the statement added.
