Short film
Damascus - SANA

The Syrian short film “The Man Who Made a Movie” won the award of Tolva Festival that has concluded its activities recently in Italy.
The film, directed by Ahmad Ibrahim Ahmad, introspects the essence and philosophy of violence that is sweeping the region, affecting the generations and the souls of people.
The high cinematographic values, boldness and ethical courage of the film are the reasons that made the jury choose it.
The critics said that the film exposes the ideas away from preaching and in a painful clarity with a touch of sarcasm and in an atmosphere of an extremely dramatic tension where the film eventually transforms into a scene of terror and horror that penetrates fantasy as well as the realm of reality.
The film, according to the jury, shows that the hostile behavior was born in the unconsciousness before it transforms into an unbearable political tool.
Director Ahmad told journalists that the award means a lot to him because it represents Syria in an international forum, pointing out that the reasons given
by the jury for choosing his film are impressive.
“The Man Who Made a Movie” is produced by the General Organization for Cinema, directed by Ahmad Ibrahim Ahmad and written by Ali Wajeeh.
