Ten residents from the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp were killed in recent clashes between Sunni militants and the Lebanese army in the southern city of Sidon, Arab Today understands. The funeral of three victims, Mohamed Adnan Ottoman, Abdel-Rahman Goma, and Ali Hassan al-Sayyad, was carried out on Wednesday. Senior Fatah official Refaat Shanaa denounced the clashes, adding that they could create sedition and lead to all-out civil war. Shanaa said that Ain al-Hilweh camp residents were living in fear, due to the current tensions in Lebanon. The Fatah representative claimed that only Israel benefits from such clashes, and he urged Palestinians to cooperate with Lebanese authorities as they unite the nation. Shanaa praised the Lebanese government for aiding the Palestinian cause and providing the refugees with state facilities.
