
Militants killed two Egyptian soldiers and wounded four in a shooting in north Sinai on Thursday, as the military vowed to crack down on \"terrorism\", officials said. The army officer and conscript were killed when gunmen opened fire on a military checkpoint near the town of Sheikh Zuwayid, security officials and medics confirmed. Twenty-year-old Abbas Rifat el Beidy was shot in the face and 25-year-old Mohamed Waheed Abdul Khalid was shot in the stomach. The four injured soldiers were 21-year-old Mohamed Fauzi Mostafa who was shot in his left leg, 22-year-old Hasan Ahmed Hasan who was shot in both feet, 45-year-old Mohamed Sabir Salim Ali who was stabbed in the stomach and Ibrahim Sayed Hasan, the 22-year-old received injuries in his left eye.
