Two rockets launched from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday hit the Ashkol area in south Israel without causing any injuries or material damage, Israeli radio reported. \"The rockets landed in the Eshkol region,\" Luba Samri told AFP, adding that \"security forces are searching for their remains\". Meanwhile an Israeli television channel said on Wednesday that Israel is concerned about its border with the Gaza Strip after recent events occurring in Egypt with the ouster of former president Mohammed Morsi. Israel reportedly is concerned that Gaza’s Hamas rulers have come under pressure after Morsi’s ouster which may lead to military escalation on the border. A lone rocket hit the Ashkol area on Sunday, and two hit southern Israel last Thursday, none causing any damage or casualties. There has been relative calm since last November, after Israel and Hamas, signed a truce after Operation Pillar of Defense. However, in the past couple of months, more than 20 rockets have been launched from Gaza towards southern Israel. Israel\'s defense establishment has said that Hamas may not behind the recent rocket firing, but more extreme groups. As the ruling authority in Gaza, Hamas is responsible for ensuring that militant groups respect the terms of the truce brokered by Egypt that ended the major eight-day confrontation with Israel in November. Israel has set up the Iron Dome defence missile system, designed to intercept and destroy incoming short-range rockets and artillery from Gaza and from Sinai in Egypt. Additional source: AFP
