Four Israelis were wounded, one seriously, when their car came under fire on a road near the West Bank settlement of Shvut Rachel on Monday, Israeli security sources said.
The injured, all of them men in their 20s, were taken to Israeli hospitals. One of them was in a serious condition, the sources said.
The shots were fired at a crossroads near the settlement in the north of the West Bank.
The president of the Shomron regional council, which groups together the Jewish settlements in the region, said in a statement "that we must not let terrorism spread".
"I call on the government to authorise the army to act without pity against these savages who take civilians for targets," he said.
