54 Killed and injured in traffic accident in Sennar

A horrific accident in Sennar, middle of Sudan, led to the death of 21 women and 3 men, in addition to the injury of more than 30 others, when a truck carrying workers heading to Sennar Sugar Plant turned on the road. Eyewitnesses said the accident happened when the link between the trailer and the vehicle was broken, which caused the trailer to fall into a lake and instantly kill 24 people. The wounded, some of them with serious injuries, were transferred to hospitals close to where the accident happened as police headed towards the scene of the carnage.
