7 officers killed in Darfur helicopter crash

A military Mi-17 helicopter crashed Monday evening in Khazan Tunjur in North Darfur state, west of the country, while it was on an administrative trip. Colonel Al-Sawarmi Khaled Saad, a spokesperson for the Sudan Armed Forces, said in a statement reported by state media that the helicopter crashed \"as a result of technical failure,\" adding that seven of the nine passengers were dead, while the other two were wounded and are being treated.
