The 14th Arab-African Parliamentary Conference fully backs the UAE's legitimate right to recover its three Islands of Tunb Greater, Tunb Lesser and Abu Mousa, occupied by Iran.
It also supports all the peaceful procedures being followed by the UAE to restore its sovereignty over the three occupied islands.
The conference held from May 4- 5, in Cote d’Ivoire's capital Abidjan, was attended, among others, by the UAE Parliamentary Division. It discussed a host of issues, including sustainable development and peace.
Murwan bin Ghulaita, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council, stressed at the conference the importance of Arab- African cooperation to bolster sustainable development and support peace.
He added that the conference "is an important platform to strengthen the development of Arab and African countries, whose efforts in this respect date back to the 1970s."
The UAE parliamentary official called for upgrading the relations between the two sides to reach the level of strategic integration. He called for coordination between the two sides in areas of food security, infrastructure, energy, mining, development and environment, as well as good governance to achieve sustainable development.
Bin Ghulaita stressed the importance of enacting laws to protect and encourage investments, as well as avoidance of double taxation and activation of free trade.
