
Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, Deputy Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) yesterday met to discuss ways of promoting cooperation relations between the UAE and the organisation.
During the meeting which took place on the fringe of a meeting of ministers of defence of NATO allies and partner nations, the pair also discussed security issues, developments in the region and their impact on regional and international security and stability as well as efforts to fight terrorism.
They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation relations in the area of training forces.
A number of senior officers from the Ministry of Defence and NATO officials attended the meeting.
