Algeria's Criminal Court of Judicial Council has issued a life sentence for "terrorist" Abul Abbas. He has been charged on accounts of forming an armed terrorist group, willful killing, kidnapping, placing explosives in public places, and falsifying formal documents. The prosecutor demanded the implementation of the death penalty against the defendant. Abul Abbas served as a judge for his armed group, joining the terrorist network in 1993. He was arrested in 2010 in an ambush in Ein el-Hamra and was found in possession of a firearm, ammunition, two identification cards, a professional national security card related and five cell phones. During the investigation the defendant declared that he joined the terrorist network at the age of 23, was an active member in a number of terrorist cells in Boumerdas and was appointed as a judge for the terrorist group in 2002.
