
Arab and African foreign ministers convened here Sunday in preparation for the 3rd Afro-Arab summit, due to open on Tuesday. Arab League Secretary General Nabil el-Araby attends the meeting. The Kuwaiti, Libyan and Kuwait foreign ministers are due to address the opening session of the gathering. The meeting is scheduled to review preparations for the summit's agenda and the progress realized so far in implementing the 2011-2016 action plan for promoting Afro-Arab cooperation. The meeting will also address proposals on establishing Arab-African committees for artistic affairs, immigration and human rights. The conferees are due to review the outcome of a recent meeting in Kuwait of high-ranking officials to prepare for the top diplomats' meeting. Source: MENA
