Secretary-general of the Arab League, Nabil Elaraby, is heading to Berlin on Monday to hold talks with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle. Officials will focus on regional developments across the Arab world, focusing in particularly on the worsening situation inside Syria. Negotiations around the Palestinian issue and hopes for a two-state solution will also be on the table, a statement said on Sunday. Elaraby will also meet with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Antonion Guterres in Geneva to discuss the Syrian refugee crisis and other human rights officials regarding Palestinian prisoners currently being detained in Israeli jails. A UNHCR statement on Sunday confirmed that Egypt now has over 50,000 Syrian refugees inside its borders.
