A group of three armed men attacked a military patrol travelling through the Sinai, military officials have reported. Four vehicles belonging to the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) came under fire close to the El Gorah position in the Sinai. Sources claimed the assailants may have been trying to kidnap international peacekeepers. The group of three men escaped on a motorcycle following the incident. No one was injured in the clashes. MFO peacekeepers were stationed in the Sinai Peninsula following Israel’s full withdrawal from the Egyptian territory according to the 1978 Camp David Accords.
