
Following orders from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, the Royal Court mourned the sad demise of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
"HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa mourns the death of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who passed away leaving a prolific legacy laden with dedication and landmark achievements in serving his people, the Arab and Islamic Nations and advocating their causes", the statement said.
"The Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab and Islamic nations have lost, with the death of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, a wise leader who dedicated his life to serving his people, nation, religion and humanity", the statement added, affirming that his works and achievements would remain forever engraved in hearts and minds, making him a model to emulate in leadership, sacrifice and dedication."
The statement expressed Bahrain’s support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the brotherly Saudi people in these moments of grief, recalling the great marks of the deceased as the architect of his country’s landmark development strides in all fields, as well as his pivotal role in supporting the progress of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and cementing its pillars.
The statement extended the condolences of HM the King, the Government and people of Bahrain to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Al-Sauds, and the Government and people of Saudi Arabia, praying Allah Almighty to lay the deceased’s soul in eternal peace.
Upon Order from HM the King, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa issued an edict declaring a 40-day mourning during which the flags will be flown at half-mast. Ministries and government directorates and institutions will remain closed for three-days, starting Friday, January 23.
