Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir held talks with Chadian President Idris Deby on Thursday, in which both leaders discussed a number of issues in the economic, political and the security fields. A statement issued by the Sudanese presidency read: "The talks were focused on the project linking the two countries through a continental road, which will be funded by the government of Qatar. President Bashir said work is underway to export Chadian oil through pipes passing through Sudan." "Sudan will also set special areas at Port Sudan harbour for Chadian commodities," the statement added. The Chadian President arrived in Khartoum with a cabinet delegation from his country, on Thursday evening. He was received at Khartoum Airport by President Bashir along with a number of Sudanese ministers. President Deby also had a meeting with Sudanese Foreign Minister Salah Wansi, in which they discussed bilateral relations, particularly issues of security and monitoring the joint borders between the two neighbouring countries.
