Eight people were killed and 50 wounded in a bomb blast Wednesday that hit Hijaz square at the heart of the Syrian capital, state news agency SANA said. "Eight citizens including two women were killed in an explosion caused by a bomb placed by terrorists at the entrance to the Hijaz railroad company," SANA said, using the regime's term for rebels. More than 50 wounded, among them women and children, were taken to hospital for treatment. Also wounded were several train station maintenance workers, said SANA. Damascus has been hit by frequent blasts, most of them caused by mortar rounds, in recent months. The regime blames rebels for the attacks. Source: AFP
