Yasser Borhami, the deputy chief of the Salafi al-Nour Party has invited the Egyptians to vote 'yes' in the coming referendum on the draft constitution slated for mid-January. Speaking at a public rally organized by the Party in Zagazig, Sharqiya province, on Thursday, Borhami stressed that the approval of the new constitution was the first step towards achieving stability and building and developing Egypt. 'The draft constitution protects the Islamic identity of the Egyptian state,' according to Borhami. He denied rumors saying that the new constitution equalized men and women in inheritance, in violation to the Islamic Sharia that allots women half of the share given to men. These reports are false and unfounded, he has said. The conference was attended by Nader Bakkar, the media adviser of Nour Party. Bakkar expected high turnout in the upcoming referendum and a majority of 'yes' vote. Source: MENA
