A Canadian national who belongs to the terrorist Daesh group was killed in clashes near the Syrian city of Kobani on Thursday.
John Maguire, who left Canada to join the Takfiri group in January 2013, urged attacks on Canadian targets in a six-minute video released by the terrorist group earlier.
The 23 year-old Ottawa man, identified as Abu Anwar al-Canadi in the video, warns that Canada’s involvement in the US-led coalition's airstrikes against Daesh positions in Syria and Iraq will result in revenge attacks in the country.
The latest fatality brings to five the total number of Canadians, who were killed in Syria.
