Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has received a message from Chadian counterpart Idriss Deby aiming to stabilise bilateral relations between the two countries. Chadian Foreign Minister Moussa Feki, who passed the message on to Bashir, confirmed the “strength of relations” between Chad and Sudan, denying recent media reports about pressure on Chad to postpone a Green Fence Summit against the backdrop of criminal prosecutions faced by Bashir for war crimes allegedly commited in Darfur. The Chadian Foreign Minister has said earlier that the conference was not postponed because of pressure. "We decided to postpone the conference and will hold it later,” he said.
