Inmates escape from Mauritanian prison

Security sources have told Arabstoday that four \"dangerous\" inmates have escaped from a prison in Aleg, the capital of the Brakna Region, Mauritania, putting security on high alert in the area. The prisoners escaped in the early hours of Tuesday. Police have given descriptions of the men to all checkpoints, as well as informing the public. One of the men has been caught after an attempted robbery near the capital area of Nouakchott. The police are still on the lookout for the remaining three. However, questions are now being raised regarding the escape, as the prison is known for its tight security surveillance.
