Dozens of people were injured in Al Sharqia Governorate in the northern part of Egypt, when supporters and opponents of the Muslim Brotherhood exchanged birdshot and stones on Thursday. A group of pro-Brotherhood demonstrators gathered to stage marches in several areas to denounce former president Mohammed Morsi’s ouster. Some demonstrators then clashed with a group of anti-Morsi protesters. Several shop fronts were destroyed and dozens of people suffered cuts and bruises. Police broke up the fighting using teargas and arrested 11 people on charges of instigating violence. Dozens were treated on the spot while 30 were transferred to the capital Zagazig New General Hospital.
