Egypt imam: Powerless Morsi will lead to chaos

Sheikh Mazhar Shaheen, the imam of Egypt\'s Omar Makram Mosque, said President Mohammed Morsi should have \"full power to exercise his powers as president\", warning of \"a new revolution in case the President is not given his powers\". Shaheen, during his sermon in the mosque on Friday, said: “If the people want stability and the completion of the revolution, we have to give the President full power and then monitor his mistakes.” \"Many want to ignite sedition in Egypt and deny President Morsi\'s electoral victory to fulfil their own agendas...people must be patient, though we are in need of stability,\" he said. About death of a student in Suez allegedly by \"bearded\" Islamists -- which sparked anti-Muslim Brotherhood protests in Cairo on Friday -- Shaheen said: \"The promotion of virtue and prevention of vice reflects each individual\'s character, provided that they do not assault each other. The media work to make people afraid of any bearded person, and not all of those who have beards and wear a Jellabiya are considered Islamists. He warned warning: “Be aware if Egypt is burned, all will be burnt and none will remain,\" urging the need to apply deterrent law on those who exploit religion for the sake of sedition, and those who are speaking to ignite Egypt, should be muzzled.
