Egypt\'s delegation in the UN on Tuesday asked for Israel\'s nuclear facilities to be inspected by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Amr Rushdi. Rushdi said that the Egyptian delegation\'s speech to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday included condemnation to \"Israel\'s undermining of UN resolutions\", stressing that Israel is the only UN member that holds nuclear activities out of any sort of international observation, which increases the dander of nuclear weapons spread in the Middle East and hinders the efforts aimed at making the Middle East a nuclear weapons-free region. According to Rushdi, Egypt has also highlighted the importance of holding an international conference before the end of 2012, to discuss the ways to of ensuring that all kinds of mass destruction weapons will have no place in the Middle East. \"Egypt insisted that this conference must come out with binding decisions in that regard. If we fail in achieving this goal, it will have a very negative effect on the conference of reconsidering the agreement on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons planned in 2015,\" Rushdi warned.
