Egyptian envoys will carry out a tour of several African states to explain the recent political developments in Egypt, the country\'s foreign ministry spokesman has confirmed. Badr Abd el-Aty told Arab Today that the trips have been organised as part of the ministry\'s rejection of the African Union\'s suspension of all its activities following the overthrow of the government. Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Raouf Saad, will travel to Nigeria, Angola, Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone in protest against the AU\'s decision. El-Aty said that the union had failed to realise the positive impact of the June 30 revolution on Egyptian society. He added that Egypt would not take part in a consultative forum to discuss the internal situation in Egypt during the current transitional period.
