Egyptian man killed on \'jihad\' in Syria

Family and friends of an Egyptian man who left to fight in the Syrian civil war say he has been killed. Mohamed Mehrez departed for Syria two weeks ago on \"jihad,\" to fight against the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. His friend, Mohamed Refaat, told Arabstoday that Mehrez, a lawyer by profession, quit his job before leaving for Damascus. His loved ones are holding a memorial at Rabaa Adawiyyah Mosque on Wednesday evening. Egyptian authorities are yet to confirm his death.
