Egyptian tanks arrive in southern Gaza Strip

Palestinian eyewitnesses in Rafah city, southern Gaza Strip, said that a large number of Egyptian ?tanks arrived on Monday to the borders with Gaza, for a first time in many years.? Witnesses said: “The Egyptian army increased units on the borders with Gaza Strip with about ??30 tanks, mostly centred in the eastern and western areas of Egyptian Rafah, and in the area of the ?military location of the military forces.”? They added: \"These kind of tanks in these quantities have not been seen in the area for a number of years.\" The tanks are thought to be carrying out combing operations and public movements on the borders.? Egyptian armed forces, in cooperation with intelligence elements, launched a security ?operation on Sunday evening over the tunnels spread below the border lines between Gaza and ?Egypt, injuring smugglers.?
