The Armed Forces on Monday killed a militant while trying to flee in Central Sinai's Nakhl district.
The militant tried to break into an armed forces ambush, and refused to comply with orders to stop.
Investigations revealed that he was a fugitive who escaped from a life imprisonment sentence during the lawlessness that followed the January 25 revolution.
A statement issued by military spokesman Mohamed Samir said that another militant was arrested during raids against terrorist hotbeds in Central Sinai.
Various firearms, bullets, cold steels, drugs and two unlicensed motorcycles were seized during the raids, the spokesman added.
