The member in the executive committee in the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Saeb Erekat hopes the re-elected American President, Barack Obama, will support the Palestinian case in his second period of presidency. Erekat mentioned in his interview that he wished that Obama will aid in helping Palestinians build their independent state with East Jerusalem as a capital based on 1967 borders, and help them to try and achieve peace and democracy in the middle east - adding that Palestinians are hoping Obama can lift the occupation burden on them. He also confirmed that the Palestinians’ main demand from Obama was to stop the Israeli occupation in Palestinian lands.
