Yemeni authorities have confirmed the death of a fisherman who they claim was killed by a group of armed Eritrean sailors. The attack, which left 37-year-old Ammar Ali Nasser dead and co-worker Khalil Said Keyaie seriously injured, took place on Tuesday, Yemen’s Interior Ministry said. Eritrean authorities have previously imprisoned a number of Yemeni fisherman, over claims they are violating its territorial waters. Both countries dispute the sovereignty of Heneish Island, which Eritrean troops first seized in the 1990s.
