Palestinian sources have told Arabstoday that the Egyptian administration has expressed dissatisfaction about the stalled reconciliation between Palestinian resistance groups Fatah and Hamas. The Egyptian authorities reportedly told Hamas in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah that talks were stalled. the meetings in Cairo were pointless and that there would be no meetings soon. The sources – who asked to remain anonymous - added that there are no Egyptian invitations in the current period for the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip and abroad to discuss the reconciliation issue. The same sources said that the Egyptian mediator in the Palestinian reconciliation was very upset and had told both movements that the Palestinian leadership was not interested in the reconciliation, expressing concern about internal disagreements in Hamas which lay between the head of their political bureau abroad and members of the movement in Gaza. About the Rafah border crossing, the sources said that Cairo informed both Palestinian leaderships that the gate would not be normally opened before the end of the military campaign in the Sinai peninsula.
