Firearms, molotov cocktails and tear gas were used during clashes with police and hundreds of people from Ezbet Hamid, Egypt, on Saturday. The clashes, which took place in Qena, started when police broke up a sit in protest for unemployed youth. It was reported that 20 people were arrested and one police officer was wounded. The residents of Ezbet Hamid cut off the main road next to the Qena General Hospital. Meanwhile, police in Qena are exerting intensive efforts to identify the unknown gunmen who kidnapped a pediatrician. Major General Salah Moreed, security director of Qena, stated that unidentified gunmen had kidnapped 28-year-old pediatrician, Essam Alia Samuel. The initial police investigations indicated that the doctor was coming back from his clinic when he was abducted.
