An unknown group announced the formation of what they called Free Iraqi Army in a statement published on many websites without clarifying the parties behind it. According to the statement, the formation of the Free Army aims to undermine the Safawi Iranian Authority in Iraq and the region. The statement added that the goals of the army is to support the Free Syrian Army and to substitute the Iraqi army which was described by the statement as ‘formed under the supervision of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards forces’. The statement described Iran as being an evil which spread to Gulf countries, Africa and East Asian countries that has become dangerous to them and must be fought. Observers said it is likely that those who are behind the issuance of this statement are based in Anbar and Mosul western and northern Iraq. None of the known groups or parties announced their responsibility for this statement and its validity couldn’t be verified from approved sources.
