
Iraqi troops have foiled a suicide attack targeting a military site in northern Fallujah, Anbar province.
A security source said Monday that a Daesh attack on an anti-terror directorate in central Ramadi was foiled.
Peshmerga troops, meanwhile, countered a Daesh attack in Ninawa on northwestern Iraq, the source said, adding that one of the troops was killed and two were injured in the confrontation.
The source said that international coalition jets hit targets of Daesh, forcing the militants to withdraw from the area, leaving their weapons and wireless behind.
The terrorist group reportedly killed a journalist in Mosul.
Alaa Mazen Abdullah, a correspondent of al Mawsaliya satellite channel was shot dead by Daesh because he had not reported the escape of dozens of reporters to the Kurdistan region.
