
Iraqi Army forces began at dawn Wednesday progress towards Fallujah to storm it from the northern and eastern sides. A security source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that fierce battles are going on now between the army and federal police backed by army helicopters, and the militants at the north and east entrances of Fallujah. On Tuesday evening, six members of the Federal Police were injured by a roadside bomb west of Baghdad. A police source told NINA that an explosive device was planted on a side of al-Badala street in al-Ghazaliya area west of Baghdad, which exploded at a federal police patrol, wounding six of them and damaging one of their vehicles. Two women were also killed and two others were wounded on Tuesday evening in an armed attack in eastern Baghdad. A police source said that unidentified gunmen broke into a house in Zayouna district in eastern Baghdad, killing two women and wounding two others and fled to an unknown destination. Source: QNA
