Commander of Baghdad Operation Major General Abdul Ameer al-Shimari has claimed that no prisoner escaped from Taji prison, north of the capital Baghdad, during last week\'s assault by Islamic militants. During a press conference, Shimari said that Iraqi security forces re-captured 349 inmates who escaped from Abu Ghraib prison, central Baghdad, and killed 105 others. Speaking alongside security spokesman Saad Maan, Shimari explained that the attackers had used bomb-laden cars during the assaults. The initial probe of the incident showed that there was negligence from the police force and the prison guards in Abu Ghraib prison, he said, adding that the prisoners carried out a riot inside the prisons when the attack of the Islamic militants began. \"Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is supervising the investigations, and will authorise legal action against negligent individuals,\" Shimari concluded.
