Israeli occupation forces attacked 60 residents from the Bab el-Shams village in East Jerusalem, as they tried to return to the camp. A Palestinian activist told Arabstoday that ten people were injured when Israeli army used tear gas and stun grenades. He added that one demonstrator was run over by an Israeli soldier and five residents were detained. The activists confirmed that several Palestinian people managed to return to the village on Tuesday, despite Israeli barriers being in place. Monzer Amira, coordinator of the village initiative, said that 15 young people breached the Israeli barriers to enter Bab el-Shams and raise the Palestinian flag. Palestinians established the Bab el-Shams encampment in the so-called E1 area where Israel recently announced it would expand its settlements by several thousand homes. On Sunday, hundreds of Israeli soldiers raided the tent village, attacked activists, and cleared the camp of its 100-200 residents.
