Israeli troops kill unarmed Palestinian man

Israeli troops on Saturday killed an unarmed Palestinian man who climbed over the border fence separating Israel and the Gaza Strip. An Israeli military spokesperson said that the man, who was not immediately identified, was shot dead after he climbed over the fence. The spokesperson added that soldiers fired warning shots into the air, but that he did not turn back. The Israeli official claimed that the man was carrying a suspicious item that the troops could not see clearly, but sources said that no weapons were found on him. After the incident, Israel soldiers scoured the area and searched the body for explosive devices.
