Japan, south Korea Agree to Strengthen Security Cooperation

The foreign ministers of Japan and South Korea have agreed to strengthen national security cooperation to deal with provocative acts by North Korea. 
Japan's Fumio Kishida and South Korea's Yun Byung-se met in New York on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, Japan's NHK World broadcaster reported Monday. 
Kishida said that in responding to North Korean affairs, the two nations should implement their agreement in December, with pledges to settle the comfort women issue "finally and irreversibly". 
The two ministers also agreed on cooperation to improve and resolve human rights and other humanitarian issues regarding the North. 
These issues include North Korea's past abductions of Japanese citizens and the reunion of Korean people displaced in the Korean War.
