Amman - Osama Arrantissi
The opposing Islamic Action Front (IAF) party in Jordan issued a statement after its Executive Office meeting demanding the formation of a national salvation government that aknowledged the crisis the nation was facing. Meanwhile, protests in Jordan are increasing day by day. The party condemned the Israeli storming of the Jordanian border and hositing the Iraeli flag on Jordanian territory. The statement also asked for serious dealing with tribal demands, and denounced the storming of MP Hamad Alhjaya’s house by security. The party expressed its concerns about Minister of Finance Umayya Toukan\'s announcement about the government’s plan to raise the prices of electricity, water and gas. In addition, the statement demanded the government put an end to illegal acts by the Syrian Embassy in Amman. The Islamic Action Front (IAF) party’s statement was as following: The Executive Office of Islamic Action Front (IAF) party had discussed in its periodic meeting some of local, Arab, and international issues, and it came out to these following points: First: for the National level:     The meeting discussed the protests in Jordan, which are increasing day by day, and this underlines the depth of the crisis, that the current government couldn’t deal with. Thus, this government’s policies failed to solve the problems, and kept dealing with procrastination and postponement. As a result, we call to form a national salvation government that akcnowledges and tries to solve the crisis.     The meeting condemned the Israeli storming of the Jordanian border and flying the flag of Israel on Jordanian territory. This was preceded by aggressive Israeli behavior, acts of espionage, and contaminating drinking water in Jordan, therefore the government has to deal firmly with these Israeli practices.     The meeting denounced the storming of MP Hamad Alhjaya’s house by security, and the way security dealt with the Alhjaya tribe protests. It also called the government to deal with the demands of Tafila Technical University’s students and day labourers.     The meeting expressed its concerns about what Minister of Finance Umayya Toukan has announced about the government’s plan to raise the prices of electricity, water and gas, calling on the government to find alternative ways to solve this problem, such as controlling spending and wastage, using alternative energy or any other effective steps.     The meeting welcomed Jordan\'s King Abdullah II and the Prime Minister\'s declarations, which confirmed that no one is above the law, and does not provide immunity for anyone by launching an investigation into corruption led by a public prosecutor. Second: The meeting condemned conitnued Israeli violence in Jerusalem and settlements, calling for Arab and Islamic countries, especially Egypt and Jordan, to pressure the Israeli government to stop its practices violating human rights, and support the Palestinian resistance. Third: The meeting condemned the Syrian Embassy\'s actions. The government should put an end to all illegal and immoral acts of the Syrian Embassy in Amman.
