Jordanian activist Magdi Kabbalin has married at a demonstration opposing an “alternative homeland” for the Palestinian people. Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets in Tafila City and Amman on Friday. Two protests in Irbid, in opposition to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Damascus, came under fire from gangs of thugs. Security forces arrested three activists, although General Security spokesman Muhammad al-Khatib has denied any arrests were made throughout Friday. Jordan has witnessed peaceful protests calling for an end to government corruption and reforms to the country’s electoral system almost every week for the last two years.
