The coordination committee set up to defend Jordanian prisoners in Israeli jails has claimed that prisoners may carry out a water strike the near future to pressurise Israeli authorities into releasing them. In a press statement, the committee said prisoners wouldn\'t live for more than ten days if they carried out such a strike. Shahin Marei, brother of the Jordanian prisoner Mounir Marei, provided details of the meeting between families of the prisoners and Jordan\'s Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, and Jordan\'s Ambassador to Israel Walid Obeidat. Marei explained that families of the protesters had withdrawn from the meeting in a protest against the approach adopted by the government in dealing with this issue. The prisoner\'s brother explained that ambassador Obeidat had reassured the families about the condition of their relatives in Israeli prisons. The ambassador blamed the Israeli authorities for stopping him from meeting the prisoners.
