A group of enterprising young Gazans has established a company to deliver Egyptian goods to residents of the Gaza Strip. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) food is one of the most popular requests. Co-founder Mohamed el-Madany says anyone in the Gaza Strip can telephone his team to order a delicious American meal. He said the company had successfully delivered four shipments of KFC food to Gaza residents in recent weeks. The company purchases meals in Arish before transporting them to Gaza through underground tunnels and distributing them to residents. El-Madany said that transporting the meals is not difficult, but the time required has proven problematic. A KFC meal priced at $11.50 in Arish costs $30 to order from Gaza. Twenty-two-year-old Aboud Fares lauded the initiative, which has permitted him to savour food he previously enjoyed abroad.
