Fighting broke out anew between local militias in the northern city of Tripoli prompting Lebanese Army troops to target sources of fire, the official National News Agency (NNA) reported early on Sunday. The clashes erupted along the "demarcation lines" between Bab Al-Tebbaneh and Baal Mohsen districts, the NNA said. Sniper fire is targeting the main road linking the city to the northernmost Akkar region and the army troops targeted sources of the sniping. Situation in the city is very tense, the NNA said. The fighting is engaging supporters and opponents of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad's regime. Earlier this week, the warring gunmen traded gunfire and shells along the "green lines," and at least one person was killed with sniper fire. Tripoli has witnessed some 18 rounds of deadly clashes since 2011. Source: KUNA
