Libyan authorities have started to prepare for Prime Minister Ali Zaidan\'s visit to Algeria in the next few weeks. This is the first visit of its kind since he took office. One of the topics that will be discussed in the meeting are the arm-smuggling operations between Libya and Algeria. The weapons were smuggled to support armed groups like al-Qaeda in North Mali. On the meeting’s agenda is the deportation of Gaddafi\'s family members to another Arabic country on humanitarian grounds. The family have been residing in Algeria since August 2011. Rumours circulated that Najla al-Gaddafi left Algeria, which is untrue according to some sources. The visit will also aim to find ways to promote cooperation between both countries, primarily in terms of security and economy. Zaidan will be accompanied by a number of Libyan ministers. A Libyan news agency reported that the prime minister on Wednesday received the Algerian Ambassador to Libya Abdel Hamid Abu Zaher and discussed relations between Algerian and Tunisia and ways to develop and improve their relations.
