Libyan warplanes attacked and sank a vessel carrying militants and weapons Sunday near the eastern city of Benghazi and targeted another carrying arms in the same area, said Spokesman for the Libyan Air Force Nasser al Hassi Monday.
"The vessel was sunk because it was loaded with fighters, weapons and ammunition to support terrorism in the eastern region," Hassi said early Monday.
Libya sunk into chaos four years after the ouster of Muammar Gaddafi with two rival governments and parliaments operating, one in the Libyan capital Tripoli and the other in Tobruk.
