Sources from the Mauritanian capital Nouakchott confirmed on Wednesday that Mauritanian air will be lifted from a travel black list which originally banned them from entering Europe. It is said to return back on the list of countries allowed to enter European airlines very soon. The decision followed after Mauritanian air departments worked on improving and reforming their airline situation, starting off with the quality of the Gendarmerie units replacing police in Nouakchott international airport and maintenance operations. A Mauritanian-Moroccan agreement has also been signed in the field of air transportation including a fair distribution between both Mauritanian and Moroccan airlines which allows seven working travels per week for each country. Both sides have invited Mauritanian Airports Company and national office for airport to establish technical cooperation in facilitating and using airports as well as exchanging experience and support.
