Mauritanian opposition groups have called for the overthrow of President Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz\'s regime, during a march in the capital Nouakchott on Monday. Demonstrators carried placards saying \"No to opening Mauritania\'s borders to drugs,\" as they marched from the headquarters of the main opposition group Rally of Democratic Forces (RFD), towards parliament. The anti-government groups signed a petition demanding that President Abdelaziz is tried for drug smuggling. Meanwhile, in the western Mauritanian region of Inchiri, demonstrators gathered outside the state building in Azwirat (600km from the capital Akjoujt), to demand the resignation of the president. Protesters carried placards which accused President Abdelaziz of being complicit in Mauritania\'s drug trade, and described his rule as \"tyrannical.\"
