Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Medelci on Tuesday urged the UN to officially recognise Palestine as a state because it will achieve peace in the Middle East. During the Arab-European Ministerial Meeting, Medelci said: “To achieve peace in the Middle East we must allow Palestinians the right to self-determination. The state of Palestine needs to be recognised to get stability in the Middle East.” He also spoke about the threat of nuclear weapons in the region. Medelci said he looked forward to the conference by Finnish Secretary of State in December to discuss plans to climate nuclear weapons in the Middle East.
