Egyptian security forces seized anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles in the Sinai Peninsula on Thursday evening, according to security sources. The weapons cache, the source said, was being stored in preparation for smuggling through tunnels into the Gaza Strip. Security authorities received information indicating that smugglers had been using a mountainous area in the centre of Sinai to store newly produced and fully-assembled missiles ahead before smuggling them into the coastal Palestinian territory. According to the source, the cache was immediately raided and six missiles stored in it were seized. The missiles were reportedly in \"good condition.\" No-one was apprehended near the storage area and explosives experts were able to disassemble the missiles on site. Egyptian security forces are reportedly combing the surrounding area in search of other weapons stores.
